I have always lived in the Easter Ross area. I was brought up in Ardross and attended the Primary school there before completing my education at Invergordon Academy. In 1969 I started work as a Trainee Technician Apprentice with Post Office Telephones (now BT). I left BT in 2002, taking early retirement at the age of 50. After taking some time out I started training to become a driving instructor (car). I completed this training and became an Approved Driving Instructor at the start of 2005. I set up in business in May of that year.

Alness is now the only Test Centre in Ross-shire and I am based in Evanton about 4 miles away.

I do a door-to-door service with full 1-hour sessions I also assist in the Theory test preparation including Hazard Perception. I am Pass Plus registered and carry out this training in 2-hour sessions. Block bookings are discounted. The training car is a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 (petrol) fitted with dual controls.

I am a member of MSA and I am also a member of the Ross-shire driving instructor association.

My pass rate at this time (almost 1 year in) is in excess of 70%.
